Yang the Second
Yingtao plays a trick on Second Sister. Mariah misleads Lynn in Mariah Keeps Cool. How are these kinds of trickery alike and different? Use a "quote" from the story to support your response.

They are both clever and worked well but they left out but the girl in Mariah Keeps Cool and in Yang The Second they embarrassed the boy so some of the story is alike and some in not. Here’s a quote from page 39 “ In our family Third Sister and I do the dishes, while Second Sister and Eldest Brother helped Mother with some of the cooking.

well first let me say misleading and tricking are VERY diffrent idea's. misleading is moving someone away from the truth. While tricking someone is making them belive something false i guess even though those sound the same actually misleading is alot less then tricking. However the tricks or "misleads" they pull have HUGE diffrences but turn out the same. Helping the person they were pulling or misleading them. Also mariah's trick was garentied to work while third sisters and yongest brothers was possible to end in dissaster. Think about it i mean mariah's also wasnt that bad a surprize party thats cool but if lynn didnt go alwell so sad :( but if third and yongest brother and sisters plan didnt work second sister would never see the end of it i mean really if she did ask paul eng out and he said no and started laughing that is something you might live with forever. So in theroy those are super diffrent tricks or "misleads" to do. However they did have one similarity the fact that the outcome of them was positive that was something right? Well maybe not. they actually had oppisite outcomes in a way. Let me explain in mariah keeps cool when lynn saw the surprize party she was kind of embarrised it looked like or maybe just to surprized that she couldnt belive it. If you remeber the dialouge or i guess literature was something like "lynns eyes grew wide and she turned and tried to run out of the courtyard she didnt know were but atleast away from here" See thats a negitive responce to what mariah and the friendly 5 did right? And in "Yang the sencond and her secret admirers" (which there was no admireier in the first place so why was it named that ask the auther I guess". Once third sister and yongest brother pulled their clever little trick on paul and yang it started well with yang walking up the stairs with "thoughtful steps" and at the sience center paul asked "does yang ever go out with other boys you know on dates?" that was a great start but it might have been all ended at the end of the story when the aouther put in "paul apparently seemed to see the laughter in the kids faces and ran out of the foodcourt" now im not sure if thats exactly what it said but i forgot my reading book its off my head ok im sorry (im at home i knew i wouldnt have time to do this in class) However something along those lines happened and that was infact a nonpositive responce to their plan now maybe thats incorrect and that was possitive i dont know they ended with a cliffhanger (which is quite clever to do with a picture book ive never seen that before) so your never sure what exactly the aouther ment to happen i dunno maybe he/she wanted people to be like "oh no no no those kids screwed it up they blew it horrible book oh just horrible" and slam it down i dont know or be like "YAY! he ran to go see yang himself" i said it already im not sure. Also i know ive used quotes from the stories so that should work as my "quote" from the story if not well ill find something to do. Oh wait at the beggining of the story the almost opening dialouge/literature was "you know that boy paul eng? he said he had never seen a enu before!" That was infact when third sister and youngest brother decided to carry out their plan of setting paul eng and yang up. Now that i look at this it really is misleading more than tricking they make them belive something false was the truth. I think that Second Sister is different because she cares about her heritage for example she eats chinese food, wears traditional chinese outfits, and plays a Chinese instrument called the erhu. Mariah on the other hand is very caring for her family and she plans a party for her sister. They are alike because the are both sisters, both might have a crush on a boy they know, and both learn a lesson in the story. here is a quote from, "Yang the Second","Are you sure Paul likes her?"
I think that all of the tricks that the third sister and the main character play on second sister are bad because every trick leads to another. heres a quote from the story,"we paused and at the foot of the stairs. Instead of going up to room to pratice she stoped to listen to more."
