Mariah Keeps Cool
How would you describe Mariah? Would you like to have a friend like her? Why? Explain with a "quote" from the story.

Mariah is a kind girl who cares about people because she threw a party for her sister’s birthday. Here’s a quote from page 346 “Only four days before Lynn’s birthday and nine days before the swim meet. Mariah felt there was not enough hours in the day for all she had. Lynn’s party took time, but the hardest work continued to be getting ready for the meet. Each step she took as she walked down the street was measured to the approach on the springboard.”
No I would not like to have a firend like her becuse she said I want to stay in bed for birthday and I would want a firend that is active and healthy.here is a "quote"I just want to do nothing on my birthday but rest in bed all day.
Yes, I would like to be Mariah's friend because if I would through a party for someone like that I would do the same thing so she would be suprised so well because you haven't been with them for a long time and then they get a big suprise.Heres a quote from the story when mariah comes home and walkes into the back yard and she covers here mouth with excitment she is so suprised.

i would desribe mariah as a person who doesnt give up easily. Dont belive me? look at it this way. It was really hard to keep the secret from lynn right. She could have just given up and said that it was to hard. But she followed through with her plan and it worked out well. Also you could describe her as sneaky. I dont that YOU would be able to pull off a surprize party like that. She was able to keep it from her SISTER not like someone who lives a block away from her. so you might have thrown a surprize party for someone before but i dont think you could pull one off if it was your SISTER in the back yard. Mariah listened as brandon's mama went to detain lynn, and when lynn entered the back yard Mariah called out of surprize 'Lynn what are you doing here' 'I was on an errand this way and i tought i would stop and see how you guys are doing with your strokes for the meet. You not swiming today?'" See Mariah tricked her into thinking they were just taking a break when really they were working on the surprize party.
