Paul Revere

Click on the link below to see some 360 degrees views of colonial life. There are six images. Be sure to see them all. You can make the camera move by clicking on the picture and moving the mouse to rotate the view.

Click on the "highlights" below each picture to read a small summary of interesting facts about the picture.

When you are done, come back here and post a comment describing the two things that were most interesting to you AND use a "quote" to show how they connect with our literature selection.

The two things that were most interesting to me were the ovens and how much food they had in the storehouse. A quote that connects to the Colonial Images is, "Then he picked up his ax and joined other Sons of Liberty, all pretending to be Indians, all carrying axes." The thing in the quote taht relates to the images was the ax.

I thought the two most interesting things out of all the pictures were the axe and the hat. The hat is related to the story because the author wrote "Paul ran hat clapped to his head with coatails flying" to show that he was a very buisy person.

My favorite part of looking at the colonial images were comparing how they lived and how we live now. The most interesting thing was the governer's house. The reason I picked this is because the governer probably got one of the nicest houses in the village and the house was small with one bed qnd the governer lived with his wife and kids. A quote from page 265 is, "Paul went back to Boston, married Sarah Orne, and began filling up his house with children. There were Deborah, Paul, Sarah, Mary, Frances, and Elizabeth(in addition to two babies who died young.) Then Sarah died, and Paul married Rachel Walker, and along came Joshua, Joseph, Harriet, Maria, and John (in addition to three more babies who died young)." This quote goes with my opinion because it talks about sll the kids in one small house, just like the governer in the picture.

The most interesting part about the pictures is the house that looked like it smiled. The other one is the bed that was built into the wall and has a curtain."Paul Revere has that he explained seems simaliar to the pictures that I saw".

Some of the most interesting things I saw were a chair because they were made hand crafted by men and it amazes me because the architectures ore amazing. Here’s a quote from page 266 “Paul kept putting up new chairs at the dinner table, and now in addition to making buckets, spoons, cups, and all the other silver items, Paul had to find new ways to make money.”

One of my favorite homes was the Governor’s house because it had a cool cutting board and the woven basket was cool. Lay Preacher’s House was my favorite home because of the desk and the bedding and here’s a quote from the Lay Preacher’s home ‘’ This bedstead has curtains and valence ... the only set in town! Mattresses are stuffed with many different kinds of materials, including flock, feathers, cotton, straw and cattail. The thick bed covering is called a bed rug. Bedding was relatively expensive in the 17th century.’’ And here another quote from Paul Revere’’ Paul went back to Boston, married Sarah Orne, and began to fill the house with children.

Somethings that I saw was the storage room. There was axe, a whip, some barrels, and there was a wheelbarrow to I think. A other thing that I saw was a colony there was a oven with a sheet over the oven so the heat could still be warm. Here is a qiout from page 265 Paul spent his summer sitting around, cleaning his rifle and polishing his sword . And swatting flies.

an interesting thing in the tour was the store room. I thpught it was interesting because even then 1,000's of years ago they still used things that we use today like axes, mustard, and bow. Another thing i found interesting was the senery. These people had AMAZING veiws just outside there door. Here is a quote that connects the story to the pictures. "Artifical teeth. Paul revere. HE fixes in such a manner that here are not only an orniment but of real use in speaking and eating." And another quote from the story. " IN boston there was plenty to see. SHips were constantly coming and going, UNloading everything from turtules to chandeleirs. Street vendors were constantly selling there wares" that shows that there was great senery.

My favorite part of the pictures was that if you move them you could really see the land and place that the had. The other cool thing I saw a chair and how it was made it looked different like if the person who made it never let any body get in the way. Heres a quote from the story from page 273 “stop!” one of the officers shouted. “if you go an inch farther, you are a dead man.”

The two images that I lked was the the goveners and the store house
and the reason why I like the goveners house is because he has
straw on his house and where he slept because it looked covterble
to sleep in. For the store house is because you could buy clothes,
axes,and neclaces and silver stuff.

What’s your name! Revere. Paul Revere. Yes. I think that one of the things that are untrusting is that he has many jobs like the bells man he has to ring it three times a day. Also he had sixteen kids then five died and he still has elvin kids left but good thing he has a wife to help him with the kids while he’s at work. The secant thing that I think is intrusting is that he was the one who made up the bosten tea party and dumping all the tea in the ocean. So that’s what I think is intrusting about Paul Revere.

My favorite one was the scenery because it was beautiful and it had a lake. More lakes were probably miles away so those columnist were lucky to have it. Here’s a quote from page 263. “Along with the horses, streets, and alleys, there were, of coarse, people in Boston about 15,000.” So it was really busy.

The two things that were interesting were the governor's house and the village. Here is a quote from page 270, "Two lanterns were to be hung in the steepleof the north churchif the English were coming by water; one if they were coming by land." This connects to the picture because the village had church.

For this week’s blog response we had the privilege to go to Colonial images and experience a virtual tour and two things I learned were that the first ovens the colonists made were made out of clay. Another thing I learned was that the felling ax which is a long handled, thin bladed ax that was used to cut down trees for clearing land or for construction. This relates to our story because the axes related because Paul used an ax for many things he did like when he went to the Boston Tea Party and that relates to the ax in the store house in the picture at colonial images.

The house I liked the most was the Governers house. I liked it because all of the decorations. Also because the welcoming and comforting with all the furnished spaces and all the interesting pots. It was very intersting also because if a celeberty lived somwhere I know I would want to see it. Here is a quote that is related to the pots in the story,"He made beads, rings, lockets, braclets, buttons, medals, pitchers teapots, spoons, sugar baskets, cups, ewers, porringers, shoe buckels, and candle sticks." He made pitchers just like the pots in the house.

My favorite image from the colonial life is The Scenery because the scene shows some of the wildlife and it pretty much shows the whole colonial life. Here’s a quote from Paul Revere and Then What Happened,” They were going to make sure that no one in Boston would pay taxes on the three shiploads of tea that had just arrived".

The two things that were interesting to me were the different coats and cool looking pots. A quote that connects to the coats is "So Paul grapped his rifle, buckeled on his sword, clapped his hat to his head, and off he went-coattails flying-to defend Fort William Henry on Lake George. The image now helps me really see Paul's coattails flying.

Two things that were interesting to were the storehouse and how many supplies were in the whole entire place and one more thing that was interesting were the axes and how bad they needed them. Here's a quote that connects to my topic,"So they marched on board the ships, hauled of tea onto the decks, broke them open with their axes and dumped the tea into Boston Harbor." That quote relates to the axes. (PG.268)

The two images that I thought were the coolest were hat and the axe. The hat relates to the story by having the author say “Paul would run, his hat clapped to his head, his coat tails were flying.” The axe relates to the story by having the author say “Broke them open with their axes, and dumped 10,000 pounds of tea into the Boston Harbor.”

I think the two interesting things that were in there were how they made the cabins they were very structured and how they can put there cabin in such great veiw it is so cool how they can just do that. Heres my "quote" "when paul revere made all those cool things in just 4 days."

The two things that were most iteresting to me is how much space is between each house. Also how there is food hanging on the side of the house. Here is a quote from the story In Boston there were 42 steets.

houses in the land is the same because it shows the house that were a long time ago and the were used by sertain people like the mayor 'quote'in boston there was always something to see.ships were constantly comeing in and out of the docks.

The two things that were interesting to me was the store house that carried all of the tools and the food and the clay ovens. The store house was interesting to me becuas most of the stuff was food. the ovens were interesting to me becuas the ovens looked diffrent and strange to me. here is a quote "Then he picked up his ax and joind the other sons of liberty, all pertending to be indians, all carrying axes." the ax was the main thing I was trying to point out, becaus the shed house had axes and tools.

The two most interesting images were the store house and one of the colonists homes. An iteresting fact i learned was the store house held lots and lots of food. to show my point here is an exaple,"32 pounds of butter and 172 pounds of prunes". Another quote is,"the colonists had to build a simple home".An observation i saw was that the roof had wheat or hay.

One of the things I saw was their beds. Their beds were so nice and were made of many different colored pelts and the thing that interested me was how much different they were than the whole house. The second thing that interested me was their store house. It was filled with tools to catch animals and also filled with tons and tons of food there was oats, wheat, vinagar, butter, pork, beef, mustard, beer, and prunes.

I liked the scenery the most because of all its beauty and peacefullness. I'm sure the patriots loved where they lived but they didnt like to pay for it to another country.

I think that having our own coputers are fun, and I think it is easier because we only have 4 class computers.
